I received news yesterday that Bobby Scott, Republican candidate for Congress, died unexepectedly Saturday afternoon. Muscogee County Coroner, Buddy Bryan said that Scott died in his sleep. Scott suffered with diabetic ketoacidosis. He also had high blood sugar and high blood pressure. Scott was 40-years-old.

I met Bobby in person for the first time last Tuesday at the Southwest Georgia Republican Party Headquarters grand opening. After the event, we were talking about the campaign when he looked at his watch and said that he had to leave to get his son.

We never expect this kind of news. According to the news reports, he was found by his son who could not wake him on Saturday afternoon. Our prayers are with Bobby’s family, loved ones, friends, and his campaign team.
