I was paying more attention to the weather channel than other news over the weekend. It was not until Sunday morning that I received an e-mail asking for my take on the latest that Trump said.
My first thought was, “what did he tweet this time?” My google search revealed that there was a lot of activity about a tape from 2005 and the locker room language Trump used.

Fifteen years ago we were viciously attacked. The enemy was not a nation with a flag. It was an ideology of hate and domination. We witnessed heroic actions of Americans.
Today we remember and honor those who fell on that day as well as those who have since fallen in the war against terror. We pray for those who are still fighting that war.

This cultural shift spills over into the political process. The mainstream media focuses on the latest Twitter message and who got offended. As a result political coverage sounds more like a kindergarten playground with shrill cries of, “Did not.” “Did too.” Continue reading
by Ted Cruz suspended his campaign for President after losing Indiana. He was consistent to the end. In announcing the suspension of his campaign, he had said at the beginning that he was in this race as long as he could see a path to victory. In speaking to a group of his supporters, Cruz said that the voters of Indiana closed that path.
While suspending his campaign, he made it clear that his fight for liberty will continue. I interpret that to mean that he will be working to support the Republican nominee, who is presumptively Donald Trump. Ted Cruz took an honorable, honest, and courageous step by suspending his campaign. To continue on after a decisive loss in Indiana would be counter-productive. Continue reading
by The Presidential Primary is a relatively new approach in the American political process. Some states held primaries as early as 1901. It was after the 1968 Democrat National convention when Hubert Humphrey was nominated without running in a single primary, that the primary election was more widely adopted.
In 1976, Ronald Reagan ran a strong challenge to President Gerald Ford which was not settled until the convention. Since that time, candidates who were nominated by each party have won primaries and secured enough votes for the nomination before the national convention. by Across Georgia last Saturday the Republican party held District Conventions. Our District Chairman, Joseph Brannan set the tone for the meeting by stating that his desire was to see a slate of delegates for the Republican National Convention who would represent the results of the primary.
Chairman Brannan appointed Gerald Smith of Sumter County as the chairman of the committee. He also appointed Seth Harpe – former State Senator from Muscogee County, Richard Wallace from Bibb County, Ritch McCutchen – 2nd District Chair of the Trump Campaign from Crisp County, and Don Cole – former 2nd District GOP Chair from Crisp County. by I once heard someone sum up the game strategy of legendary Georgia Bulldog Coach Vince Dooly. “Three yards and a cloud of dust.” It was a strategy built on fundamentals with a focus on keeping control of the ball and steady, consistent, movement down the field. There were no exciting choreographed, complicated, plays. Just three yards and a cloud of dust.
The Ted Cruz campaign could also be characterized as three yards and a cloud of dust. Cruz is a master political strategist. He knows what it takes to win and he has built a campaign organization that focuses on the fundamentals. Last August, Ted Cruz launched a bus tour of states across the South. I predict a record turnout. 65% of the vote will go to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz combined. Ben Carson comes in third if his supporters don’t throw in the towel and not show up.
