The Real Vote to Repeal Obamacare is Today – You Can Make a Difference

The Real vote for Obamacare comes up tonight in a procedural move by Senator Mike Lee of Utah. You may have seen on the news that the Senate did not get the 60 votes needed to repeal Obamacare. Here is what happened and what you need to understand.

Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell offered an amendment to the Transportation bill to repeal Obamacare. Because of Senate rules, that particular amendment required 60 votes to move forward. Frankly, that vote was little more than a show vote. Continue reading

Foreign Relations and David Perdue

Roll Call has taken notice of David Perdue in his role on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The last sentence of the article said that Perdue’s interest is in “restoring the former role of the Foreign Relations Committee in big national debates.”

Senator Perdue has already started testing his strength by putting pressure on the State Department in their planned action to waste money by building a new training facility in Virginia rather than a more cost effective approach of expanding on existing infrastructure at the training center in Brunswick, Georgia.  He has engaged a bi-partisan delegation to demand an independent cost study. Hurricane David Hits the State Department

I get several press releases each day from various sources. Over the past two days I received two releases in particular that caught my attention more than others.

Georgia Senator David Perdue has been in the Senate for six months. He quickly rose to the position of Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on State Department and USAID Management, Internal Operations, and Bilateral International Development.

On Monday he introduced a bi-partisan bill, “Improving Department of State Oversight Act” which gives strength to the Office of Inspector General and Congressional oversight for the department. “Conducting Congressional oversight is critical to making Washington more accountable, and a good place to start is at the scandal-ridden State Department,” said Senator Perdue.

Orientation for Newly Elected Senators

Thank you to all the veterans of the armed services. Also thank you to the many restaurants who give a free meal to veterans today. These free meals are not government sponsored, taxpayer funded programs.

The cost of these meals come off the bottom line of these restaurants. Show them your appreciation for saying thank you to veterans by dining with them throughout the year.

Tomorrow newly elected members of the US Senate and US House of Representatives go to Washington, DC for orientation. I have already started collecting bottled water for David Perdue. Continue reading

Tired of Negative Ads? Let’s End This Tomorrow

Republican candidates flew around as a united team today. I was with a large crowd in Albany to cheer the candidates on. Senator Johnny Isakson introduced David Perdue.

David gave a brief campaign speech and drew big applause when he noted that when Republicans take majority control of the Senate, the new Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee will be Senator Johnny Isakson.

Governor Deal announced that for the 2nd year in a row, Georgia has been designated as the most business friendly state in the nation. Continue reading

Minimum Wage Increase Will Result in More Outsourcing

At last night’s debate, Michelle Nunn continued to avoid answering questions directly. At every opportunity she turned her answer to repeated attacks on David Perdue.

She refused to express any sense of disdain, disappointment, or even disagreement with the Georgia Democrat party for the hate-filled and divisive racial flyer sent to black families across Georgia. The flyer depicted little children in Ferguson, Missouri holding signs saying, “Don’t Shoot Me.” Continue reading

“Georgians Together” – New York City Mayor Bloomberg and His Cronies Helping Michelle Nunn

Michelle Nunn has had a massive infusion of cash from an organization named, “Georgians Together.” In the past few days, the big news is that Georgians Together is primarily funded from New York and the Washington, DC area.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg invested $350,000 representing nearly 70% of the total donations to the fund. Bloomberg is best known for his penchant for depriving his citizens of everything from their 2nd Amendment rights to the ability to super size their soft drinks. Continue reading
