Fifteen Years Later

Fifteen years ago we were viciously attacked.  The enemy was not a nation with a flag.  It was an ideology of hate and domination.  We witnessed heroic actions of Americans.

Today we remember and honor those who fell on that day as well as those who have since fallen in the war against terror. We pray for those who are still fighting that war.
On that day in 2001 and the days following, America came together.  Images of fire fighters raising the American flag in the rubble of the Twin Towers displayed our resolve. Continue reading

This is Why We are Sick of the National Media

Quote

Sign Up for Note From Don Cole

The national media is once again expressing faux outrage and taking statements out of context. Down here in South Georgia we call it “pitchin a hissy fit.” This time it is over a passage of Scripture quoted by David Perdue at the Faith and Freedom Convention.

Perdue said that we should pray for President Obama. Then he quoted a portion of Psalm Continue reading

Our Nation is in Peril

Our nation is in peril. Yesterday afternoon I saw an e-mail come across with a headline that read something like “We have lost a great conservative.” Thinking that it was probably some kind of click bait I thought, “OK, I’ll bite.”

What I read hit me like a ton of bricks. US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died Saturday afternoon. He was the solid rock of constitutional law and decisions on the Supreme Court. Continue reading

Don’s Letter to Editor Columbus Ledger-Enquirer – You Deserve Better

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer published the following letter to the editor on February 10, 2016.

Dear Editor,

The Presidential race is kicking into high gear. Americans are itching for a change, not just in the White House.

In the distant horizon a wave is building that will eventually be a tsunami of revolt at the ballot box in November. That wave can be summed up in three words, “You Deserve Better.”

Here in the Second District, Sanford Bishop has been in Congress for two decades. His title is Representative. One must ask, “Whom does he really represent?”

Take for example, Obamacare. Continue reading

Let’s Set the Record Straight on David Perdue and the Iran Agreement

Yesterday I began receiving e-mail messages about Senator David Perdue being one of 8 Republican Senators to vote with the Democrats on the Iran Terror Amendment. When I asked for the referenced vote, I received link to a web site with story about how horrible the deal with Iran is.

The article included a link to commentary from Mark Levin’s radio show. The commentary on the show was from last April. It dealt with an amendment that Senator Rubio introduced to a bill that required congressional review of any agreement with Iran.

Foreign Relations and David Perdue

Roll Call has taken notice of David Perdue in his role on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The last sentence of the article said that Perdue’s interest is in “restoring the former role of the Foreign Relations Committee in big national debates.”

Senator Perdue has already started testing his strength by putting pressure on the State Department in their planned action to waste money by building a new training facility in Virginia rather than a more cost effective approach of expanding on existing infrastructure at the training center in Brunswick, Georgia.  He has engaged a bi-partisan delegation to demand an independent cost study. Response to Obama’s Amnesty – An Opportunity for Real Bi-Partisanship

Last night, President Obama announced his planned executive order to provide amnesty to five million illegal aliens. The supposed legal authority for his planned action is referred to as prosecutorial discretion.

Prosecutorial discretion is simply not enforcing certain laws. For example, driving 75 in a 70 mile per hour zone and topping the hill to see a state trooper running radar. Continue reading
