Tired of Negative Ads? Let’s End This Tomorrow

Republican candidates flew around as a united team today. I was with a large crowd in Albany to cheer the candidates on. Senator Johnny Isakson introduced David Perdue.

David gave a brief campaign speech and drew big applause when he noted that when Republicans take majority control of the Senate, the new Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee will be Senator Johnny Isakson.

Governor Deal announced that for the 2nd year in a row, Georgia has been designated as the most business friendly state in the nation. He also announced the expansion of Unisys in Augusta. Over the past four years, there has been a steady flow of announcements of expansions and new business in Georgia.

Governor Deal spent much of his time talking about criminal justice reforms. He observed that this issue is not one that makes headlines but it impacts every family in Georgia some way.

The subject of criminal justice reforms often takes on a dichotomy of either tough on crime, lock them up and throw away the key, or the other end of the spectrum blaming society for choices and behavior of individuals. Governor Deal presented a compassionate and common sense approach that offers a second chance to those who are willing to take it.

The latest polls show Republicans surging as we head into election day. The key point to remember is that polls mean little especially when we are talking literally just hours before voting begins. The only poll that counts is the vote that you cast on election day.

Many folks are sick of the negative ads. Some have even felt like taking a pass on voting this year because of the ads. If you need an incentive to vote in spite of the negative ads, think of them running through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We can end this tomorrow. Don’t surrender your vote to the makers of negative ads.

Go vote. Call your friends and remind them to go vote. Vote as if the result of the election depends on you – because in reality, it does. Thank you for your vote to send David Perdue to the US Senate, keep Governor Deal for another term and for your support for other conservative candidates.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my thoughts. Please forward these to your friends and share on Facebook. Also, let me hear from you. I always enjoy hearing back from you and I try to respond when you take the time to write me.
