For the past three months I have been writing a book, “Shaped in Life’s Quarry.” The book is finished and I have created a dedicated website to tell about the book.

The book is based on a passage in i Kings 6:7 about the building of the great Solomon’s temple. Verse 7 provides a detail so small it could be easily overlooked, yet so significant that the entire temple is built on it. “When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.”
Stones were so perfectly designed and shaped in the quarry that they fit exactly where they were to be. They served the purpose for which they were shaped.
Paul says in Romans 8:29 tells us that believers are being conformed to the image of Christ. How are we being conformed? We are being conformed through the events, circumstances, and people in our lives. This life is a quarry where you are being shaped.
This site has been several months in the making. It represents the heart behind Shaped in Life’s Quarry: that every life is shaped through pressure, purpose, and grace.
My hope is that the website becomes a place where you can return again and again for encouragement, reflection, and stories that remind you of the strength God forms in us.

I’ve included photos, reflections, and video interviews with several remarkable individuals whose lives shaped mine. Two of these men — Julian Parker and Bob Bright — have since passed away, and preserving their voices and memories is one of the most meaningful parts of this project. Their stories are waiting for you on the site.
