Freedom Attacked

If we use the traditional 40 years to represent a generation, then we are at the end of the 2nd full generation since the Day of Infamy on December 7, 1941. My father remembers that day with the vivid memories that millennials today remember September 11, 2001.

My father was drafted and served in the US Army Signal Corp in Japan at the end of that tragic war. He, along with hundreds of thousands of young American soldiers, very likely would have been killed in that war had it not been for Harry Truman’s decision to drop the atomic bomb and decisively end WWII.

On December 7, 1941, America and her greatness came under attack. The goal of the enemy was to ultimately destroy the heart and soul of America.

It is hard to imagine today, but in 1942, just months after Peal Harbor, LIFE magazine published scenarios of an invasion of the United States with Japanese taking the West coast and the German forces taking the East Coast. One plan included an invasion of the United States through the Mississippi River.

America fought a war on two fronts. One in the Pacific Islands and the other in the Europe and North Africa. Fortunately, we never had to defend against a massive invasion in our land.

By the grace of God and, as the founding fathers wrote in our Declaration of Independence, “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence,” America prevailed. When the smoke cleared, our flag still proudly waved and we remained a free people as One Nation Under God, but freedom is never permanent in this world.

Less than one month ago on November 11, we celebrated Veterans day. What we today call Veteran’s Day was originally Armistice Day where at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, WWI, the war to end all wars, was to cease.

Less than 35 years later, Europe was at war, and on the morning of December 7, the routine of military service on a tropical island turned to terror and death. America and her freedom was under assault once again.

Freedom is never permanent in this world. There are evil forces at work to destroy and conquer the greatness of America. Our only hope and security as a nation goes back to those ten simple words in the document that gave birth to our nation. “With a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.” Today is a day to remember and to resolve to stand in that firm reliance.

We are in the midst of another crucial threat to America. We face this threat on two fronts. We cannot afford to lose on either.

One front is right here in Georgia at the ballot box on January 5. There is a runoff election for two US Senate seats and it could be the single thread by which we cling to freedom as Americans. This is not merely partisan hype, it is a danger to our nation.

Three Republicans, two US Senate seats and one Georgia Public Service Commission, are on the ballot. They stand as a firewall against Socialism and loss of freedom. Totalitarianism quickly follows when freedom falls. We must vote.

Today, December 7, is the last day to register to vote. You may know a young person who turns 18 on or before January 5. Get them to register now. They can register 6 months before the 18th birthday.

Understand that there are those who have already demonstrated that they will stuff the ballot box with illegal votes from deceased, out of state, felons, and many other means to defraud the people of Georgia.

If you vote, we will overcome even the unlawful votes. We must show up and vote. Early voting begins Monday, December 14. Do not put this off.

January 5 is one front in the battle. The other is in the courts and state legislatures in the battle for truth in the Presidential election. Georgia is one of the states also on that front. In this front, there is a clock ticking.

President Trump has filed a contest in the court system with evidence that there were enough unlawful votes that could have changed the election. For the President to prevail, the fastest route would be for the court to rule in his favor and throw out the election of November 3 for a new election.

At that point, presumably, due to the time frame, the legislature would select the electors in order to have Georgia’s votes represented in the Electoral College vote to elect the President. The question is, will the court rule in time and how will they rule regarding the election?

After hearings in the Georgia State Senate last week, the Georgia Senate Committee was shocked at the testimony and evidence of voter fraud. Senator William Ligon who chaired the Committee introduced a petition to call a Special Session on Tuesday, December 8 at 10:00 AM. The petition was signed by 4 State Senators and needs an additional 29 signatures.

You can contact your Senator by calling the State Capitol at 404.656.5000 or find your Senator and Representative at www.senate.ga.gov.

Governor Brian Kemp can also call for a Special Session. He has determined, however, that any action taken to override the certified vote would be unconstitutional so he does not plan to call for a special session. You can contact the Governor’s office at (404) 656-1776.

I have great respect and trust in Governor Kemp. My question on the unconstitutionality of the Georgia legislature acting is what is his basis for making that determination. Has the Supreme Court of the United States ever ruled on this matter? If he is going on advice of his staff, then I must respectfully and strongly disagree with that position.

A case of this magnitude has never been argued before the Supreme Court. This is clearly a case that should be reviewed, debated, and addressed. Legal minds will differ on how the courts may rule and we will not know until it actually goes to court.

We should not throw in the towel on the matters of election fraud based on the opinion of staff attorneys. I respectfully request that the Governor reconsider his position. After all, I remember his commercials where he defiantly said, “yeah I said that” and “keep choppin.” That is why the people elected him as Governor!

We have three branches of government. The judiciary is not the only arbiter of factual truth. The legislative branch has full powers of oversight and investigation into matters that affect the people of Georgia.

This matter is too great and too important for our nation. It is time to call the legislature into session, let them have their fact findings, and then take whatever action is deemed appropriate based on what they find and what happens in the court. The timing may all fall into place.

If anyone does not like the decision, then take it to court. That is the only way we will know whether or not something is unconstitutional.

79 years ago was a Day of Infamy when freedom was threatened. Today, we face another threat. It is time to rise to face it head on.

Call your Legislator and the Governor today. Tell them that as a citizen of Georgia, you demand that we have confidence in the means in which our electors are selected.
