Leslie and I took a cruise at the end of the year and just returned. I purposely declined the ship’s internet package so the only reason I carried my phone was to take pictures.

We needed to get away from everything and make a major decision. I will write more about that in the near future.

On the day before returning to the United States, I commented to one of our table guests that I had no idea what was going on in the world. The last I heard before we left was, there were some protests at our embassy in Iraq and Nancy Pelosi had still not delivered the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate.

When we returned, I learned that President Trump ordered a precision attack that took out Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. In an address to the nation President Trump reminded us of the pure evil and hatred against the civilized world, especially the United States, that Soleimani displayed.

Democrats on the other hand seemed to want to fly our flags at half mast in mourning. Democrat members of Congress followed in lock step with left wing talking points that are nonsense.

In the same sentence they make two opposing assertions. On one hand Soleimani was a bad actor deserving retribution but on the other they said that he did not pose an imminent threat so the President was wrong to order the attack.

This kind of doublespeak is absurd. Which is it? Is he an enemy or not? Do we shoot or wait for another attack?

Can you imagine a soldier in combat given these kinds of nonsensical orders? Tragically, yes I can. We called it Vietnam.

Soleimani trained terrorist armies, incited civil wars, organized and led planting of roadside bombs that have killed hundreds of American soldiers. President Trump reported that Soleimani directed the recent attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq that took the life of one American and seriously wounded others.

Most importantly, President Trump pointed out that he was planning to do even more. The President knows far more than he has allowed to be made public. The President is the Commander in Chief and he made the call as was his Constitutional duty.

Meanwhile in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi still has not delivered the Articles of Impeachment. She said that she was taking steps to deliver them.

Taking steps? Maybe she misplaced her fitbit and wants to be sure that she records each one.

She supposedly is meeting with her caucus on Tuesday. Why a caucus meeting?

House Democrats made their decision. They rushed this through a month ago.

It is great to be back in the USA. Democrat doublespeak is still alive, but fear not. Don Cole with Common Sense from DC (Not Washington) will unravel the absurdity.
