How to Win the Showdown with Obama

A vivid memory sticks in my head from my childhood days. I was learning to tie my shoes. I watched my mother tie them with ease for me. Now she was teaching me to do it myself.

I fumbled with the laces and after many frustrating attempts, I was no closer. I cried out, “I cain’t do this!” (intentionally spelled the way my accent sounds.) My mother responded with three simple words that somehow stuck in my mind, “Cain’t never could.”

Response to Obama’s Amnesty – An Opportunity for Real Bi-Partisanship

Last night, President Obama announced his planned executive order to provide amnesty to five million illegal aliens. The supposed legal authority for his planned action is referred to as prosecutorial discretion.

Prosecutorial discretion is simply not enforcing certain laws. For example, driving 75 in a 70 mile per hour zone and topping the hill to see a state trooper running radar.

Nunn Campaign – A Far Cry from a Thousand Points of Light

In his 1989 inaugural address, President George H. W. Bush invoked an illustration of a thousand points of light to emphasize the spirit of America. He was carrying forward the theme of the Reagan revolution that focused on optimism and individual responsibility.

Michelle Nunn, when entering the race for US Senate as a Democrat, prominently displayed images of herself with former President Bush. Today Michelle Nunn’s campaign theme is a far cry from thousand points of light. It is now, what we all knew that it would be, a typical Washington DC politician page right out of the Democrat playbook.

Paradox in Pennsylvania

He was a trained, skilled, professional. His job was to help people with problems. He was well respected.

He carried a secret. Some of those around him knew his secret but they stayed silent about it. If he had been found out, he could have lost his job and even his very career. It could lead to an ethics investigation, possibly even criminal charges.
