Congressman Austin Scott Dares to Call it Discrimination

Watch my video commentary. Only 3 minutes and it adds so much more than reading the text.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it is a duck. 8th District Congressman Austin Scott dared to call out discrimination in the $1.9 trillion so-called Covid relief bill. He wrote an editorial entitled, “Woke Coke Wants Reparations, and Biden’s COVID Relief Bill Delivers Them.”

Bills in Congress usually have deceptive titles. “The American Rescue Act of 2021” is no exception. A more accurate name would be, “The American Racial Discrimination Act of 2021.”

In a nutshell, the bill directs the Secretary of Agriculture to pay up to 120% of the outstanding loan balances for any farm related loan for socially disadvantaged farmers.

That is for all direct and guaranteed loans on the books as of January 1, 2021.

Payments may go directly to the borrower. What happens if this borrower does not use the money to pay off the loan? Am I being insensitive for asking?

Elgible recipients do not have to be US Citizens! Welcome to America! Borrow a million in December and we’ll give you $1.2 million in March!

Pay careful attention to this spin in the bill. The definition used for socially disadvantaged in the USDA includes Women, African-Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Hispanic, Asian, and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.

The bill does not use the current USDA definition for socially disadvantaged. It specifically uses a 30 year old definition from 1990.

What’s the difference? One group is absent. Sorry ladies. Women not included.

Austin Scott, opposed the bill but did introduce an amendment to treat all women equally. Democrats killed it.

He also introduced an amendment to prohibit members of Congress from being eligible. Democrats would have nothing to do with that either. It may explain why so many Democrat members of Congress suddenly started whistling “Old McDonald had a Farm.”

Both of our Senators and 2nd District Congressman Bishop voted for the bill just like the Democrat leaders in Washington told them to. If you happen to qualify for this payoff, do not thank Congress, thank your fellow taxpayers.

Remember that Democrats will hand out goodies with one hand, while taking your wallet with the other. Also remember that while they profess to care about you, they really only care about your vote and their elite friends.

Austin’s editorial pointed out how big business jumped on the bandwagon. Be assured, big business does not care about you or societal concerns.

Austin discovered that major newspapers will not publish his editorial. They must be afraid of losing the advertising dollars from big business.

I told Austin that I would be glad to share this with my readers. Thank Austin for speaking out. Here is a link to the editorial.
