Disclosing Sanford Bishop’s True Loyalty

Quarterly federal election reporting disclosures can tell a lot about a politician’s true sense of loyalties. In the case of Sanford Bishop his latest reporting of contributors is crystal clear.

In the first quarter of 2020, $89,472.00, came from Political Action Committees. Only $7,600, came from individuals who gave $200 or more. And a whopping $174.23 came from those small unitemized contributions from individuals who gave less than $200.00.

But there’s more to this report. Of the $7,600.00 from individuals, there was one – ONE individual contribution from the 2nd District. That one contribution was $2,800.00 from a CEO in Columbus.

There’s even more to this report. Aside from that one single contribution from the 2nd District, there was only one other individual contribution from the ENTIRE State of Georgia. That was $250.00 from someone who does not even live in the 2nd District. Everything else came from outside of Georgia, most of it from within the beltway of Washington DC!

So, let’s be real generous and give the benefit of doubt for those small non-itemized individual contributions. Let’s say that all of the $174.23 in small contributions, came from individuals in the 2nd District.

So let the numbers speak for themselves.

Total $97,246.23, given to Sanford Bishop’s campaign.
One $2,800 individual itemized contribution of over $200.
$174.23 total small non-itemized contributions of less than $200.

That leaves a maximum of $2,974.23 (3%) given by individuals in 2020 from the 2nd District to Sanford Bishop’s campaign. $94,272 (97%) came from Political Action Committees and consultants in Washington, DC.

What does that say about someone who is supposedly running to represent the 2nd District of Georgia? It says that we have the answer to some fundamental questions.

For example, why did Sanford Bishop vote to impeach President Trump? Well his report gives us the reason. In fact it gives us over 94,000 reasons.

Southwest Georgia does not have a representative, and we desperately need one. You can count on me to represent you and your values, not those of Nancy Pelosi and the swamp dwellers in Washington, DC.
