Last November millions of average Americans stormed the polling places around the nation in an historic demonstration of electoral shock and awe. Hillary Clinton and Democrats, buoyed by a supportive mainstream media and erroneous pollsters, presumed an easy victory followed by weeks of celebration.
Their hopes were shattered. Even the old phrase “agony of defeat” could not describe the depths of despair and unhinged anger put on display by the left, including the mainstream media.Hillary and the Democrats were desperate to cling to anything that would help deflect the devastating losses. The left locked on to a Russian conspiracy to explain how Donald Trump could have possibly won the election.

The Georgia legislature is considering a bill commonly referred to as the Destination Resort bill. Senate Bill 79 and House Bill 158 are clones. This allows introduction and consideration of the same bill on parallel tracks in both House and Senate.
The Act is 28 pages long. The title alone is 163 words (lines 1-12). The title explains that the Act establishes a gaming commission, authorizes licensing for up to two destination resorts, licenses suppliers and certain employees, regulates certain gaming activities, provides for fees and taxes and their distribution, enforcement of certain credit instruments, and provides for a contingent effective date.

On Saturday morning February 11, the 2017 cycle for the Georgia Republican party began with precinct caucuses in the counties with population over 80,000. Later that day four announced candidates for the State Party Chairman met at a forum in Dahlonega to present their vision and answer questions about their plans and priorities.
The announced candidates are Alex Johnson, Michael McNeely, John Watson, and Mike Welsh. Todd Rehm editor of GAPundit.com moderated the event. It lasted a little over one hour.
The event was very informative and positive. Each candidate presented what he believes the state party needs and how he best meets that need. Between now and the state convention, there will be more opportunities to hear from each one. Delegates to the state convention will be elected at the County Conventions next month. The officers for the State Party are elected by the delegates to the state convention.
by An Appeal to Georgians Who Vote Democrat
I know Georgians who vote Democrat. Some come from a Labor Union background. Many are African-American. Some are elderly Caucasians who loved Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The common denominator is that they are fed the line that Republicans are greedy, uncaring, and out of touch with the common people. That is a false caricature. The truth is that the Democrat party is not the party of the common man. It took a sharp detour from that path long ago.
by There Will Not Be A Nuclear Option
I think that every pundit on television is fixated on the Nuclear Option for the confirmation of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch. Even President Trump himself openly encouraged Senator McConnell to use it if he had to.
One statement that I keep hearing is that under the current Senate rules it will take 60 votes. That is somewhat misleading. When the Senate opens debate on the confirmation, it takes 60 votes to end the debate. If one Senator wanted to filibuster, the debate would continue until 60 Senators voted to end the debate and proceed with the vote.

Congressman Sanford Bishop has stated that he is pro-life. Evidence proves otherwise. On January 24, 2017, the US House of Representatives voted to permanently prohibit federal funds for abortion. Sanford Bishop voted against the bill two times.
In 2015, Sanford Bishop voted twice to support Planned Parenthood. The issue will come up again.

Following every election candidates, both winning and losing, make statements about being united as Americans. They say that it is now time to unite as one for the common good.
In past elections, even when Republicans won, it appeared that they were more concerned about the appearance of “unity” than the principles on which they ran to get elected. There is a dangerous deception in the calls for unity. Most often those calls are from the media and Democrats. They are loudest when Republicans win.

President-Elect Trump formally announced former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue as his pick for Agriculture Secretary. The first headlines from mainstream media were about Sonny’s call for prayer for rain in 2007.
Sonny Perdue is a man of faith. He grew up on a farm. It is virtually unheard of to find a farmer who does not acknowledge reliance on divine Providence. Praying for good weather conditions is a part of life in a family and community dependent on agriculture.

Last Friday morning I wrote a letter to Congressman Sanford Bishop asking him to demand that the “pig” painting be taken down. According to News reports from last Friday evening, the painting in the halls of Congress depicting police officers as pigs will come down on Tuesday, January 17. I still want him to respond to my request. The letter I sent is displayed below.
