Don’t Eat the Rat Poison

Don’t eat the rat poison. As we draw closer to election day, we hear more talk of a huge red wave. Before you pop the champagne cork, let me warn you, early voting numbers are not showing the red wave everywhere.

I want to talk primarily with my friends in the 2nd Congressional District. Sanford Bishop and Democrats in Congress are scared. They are pouring in money to the 2nd District and they are getting their voters to the polls.

Republican Chris West can and will win this fight if conservatives show up. Herschel Walker will win statewide if conservatives show up. Brian Kemp has a lead for governor, but conservatives must show up or that lead will evaporate.

We love to hear predictions and the analysis of what could be a red wave on November 8. But this kind of thinking can lead to a tragic let-down. Nick Saban calls it rat poison.

It looks so good. It seems so easy. It will be a slam dunk. Let that thinking go to your head and the next thing you know, you are writhing on the floor in agony.

Have you voted? The bottom line is that YOU are the red wave. It is your vote that counts. The moment you assume that all the other conservatives are going to show up and run over the Democrats is the moment that we get out-flanked and out-voted.

They are doing it to us now in the 2nd District. We have to come out in the 2nd half all the way through the end of the game to get the win. It is in our hands, we just have to focus on running the plays and not get distracted by the deadly rat poison.

When you hear the pundits talk about the red wave, let that be a reminder to go vote. If you have already voted, then call a friend and ask them to go vote. Offer to give them a ride.

The races are going to be close and every vote counts. You are the one to make the difference. Don’t eat the rat poison. Be the red wave. Go vote today!

Vets to Vote

The Battle is at the Ballot Box

I just finished reading the book, Trump’s America by Newt Gingrich. His book is not as much about Donald Trump, as it is about the people of America who elected him.

His last chapter is entitled, “Challenges.” There he sums up the challenge we face as an America that revolted in 2016 and won.  Here is what he said that Trump’s America was doing:

It is trying to replace a deeply entrenched establishment. It is trying to defeat the cultural, academic, and news media elites. It is trying to drain the swamp and root out the deep state. None of these opposing forces are going to go quietly. ….President Trump needs the people of Trump’s America if America’s great comeback is to continue. The fight will go on. … This is the real test of Trump’s America, and 2018 is the decisive battle.” (Newt Gingrich, Trump’s America, page 286)

The decisive battle is right now in 2018. The outcome of this battle will be clear by late evening November 6 or early morning November 7, 2018.

The outcome of this battle is being determined right now as early voters go to the polls and drop absentee ballots in the mail. At approximately 7:00 pm EST in Georgia, the final votes will be cast. Have you already done your part?

I strongly encourage early voting. There are too many things that can go wrong on election day to interfere. There is no reason not to exercise that responsibility now.

Democrats have poured money into campaigns across the nation. Here in Georgia they want the Governor’s office and every Constitutional officer they can get. They want to keep Democrat members of Congress in office and are desperately trying to unseat some Republican members.

It does no good to argue that money is coming from California and New York. It is pouring in from left wingers outside Georgia. That is just the way it is. Get over it.

A vote is a vote is a vote. Votes are the only thing that counts and your vote must be cast to be counted.

There is no need to get into arguments on social media. It is almost as certain as death and taxes that you will not change anyone’s mind.

Just go vote. Then find someone who will vote for the Republican candidates on the ballot and get them to vote.

Here is the cardinal rule. Memorize this.

Your job is not to convince people to vote for Brian Kemp and Republicans. Your job is to find the people who will vote for Brian Kemp and Republicans and convince them to go vote.

The battle is raging right now. You must be on the field and in the fight. Your vote counts. Don’t leave it in your pocket, get it in the ballot box so it will count.

Don’t argue. Don’t fret. Don’t procrastinate. Get in the battle and go vote. The battle is at the ballot box.

Fifteen Years Later

Fifteen years ago we were viciously attacked.  The enemy was not a nation with a flag.  It was an ideology of hate and domination.  We witnessed heroic actions of Americans.

Today we remember and honor those who fell on that day as well as those who have since fallen in the war against terror. We pray for those who are still fighting that war.
On that day in 2001 and the days following, America came together.  Images of fire fighters raising the American flag in the rubble of the Twin Towers displayed our resolve. Continue reading FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

How Government is Like a Wildfire

Smokey the Bear says, “Only you can prevent wildfire.” Fire is one of the most valuable chemical reactions known to man. It can heat your home, cook your food, and power your automobile. It can also be one of the most destructive forces known to man.

If it is not tightly controlled, the same fire that provides warmth, can burn your home down with you and your loved ones inside. Fire has an insatiable appetite for oxygen and fuel. It does not care where it gets it.
