Covid Vaccinations Done Right

Don Cole shares his experience with getting a Covid-19 vaccination

Proverbs 3:27 says, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it.”

We all have the power to say good words and show our appreciation. Crisp & Dooly County Health Departments are definitely due some good words. In fact Chick-fil-A should be a little bit envious of them.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Where to Now?

The “Hate Donald Trump” show in Congress dropped the curtain on its final act. Donald Trump was acquitted in the Senate trial and that saga is finally over for now at least.

The proceedings were called an impeachment but that is a misnomer. An impeachment is a trial to remove a current office holder from office. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Vets to Vote

Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Retired USMC Major General James E. Livingston

I am a veteran and I vote. I served four years in the US Army, two in the Panama Canal Zone and two at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah.

My Military Occupational Skill (MOS) was Military Police Investigator. One of the skills for an investigator was the ability to type. This was long before the days of the personal computer. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Yeah, I Said That

Honorable Brian Kemp, Governor
206 Washington Street
Suite 203, State Capitol
Atlanta, GA 30334

December 19, 2020

Dear Governor Kemp,

Call a special session of the Georgia Legislature. Since November 3, we have heard repeatedly “there is no credible evidence” of widespread fraud that would change the outcome of the election.

What is the basis for that statement? Has there been a court case that actually ruled on the factual claims? FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

The Empty Chair – 2020

I first wrote this article in 2016. Since that time I know many who have lost loved ones.

2020 has been a particularly brutal year with a pandemic that crushed lives both directly and indirectly. This is the first Christmas season without their loved one for some. If you are one of those missing a loved one, this is for you.

Christmas is supposed to be a time of great joy and happiness. This year is different for many. You probably know some for whom it is different but do not realize it, or maybe it just slips past you in all the hustle and bustle of the year. It is quite possible that you are one of those for whom Christmas is different. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Freedom Attacked

If we use the traditional 40 years to represent a generation, then we are at the end of the 2nd full generation since the Day of Infamy on December 7, 1941. My father remembers that day with the vivid memories that millennials today remember September 11, 2001.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Restore Confidence for January 5 Runoff

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that confidence in our elections administration in Georgia is in the gutter. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger can issue all the announcements he wants about how secure the election was but he may as well be saying that professional wrestling is real. There are more eyeballs rolling at his announcements than there are wheels on rolling on I-75. Still Standing His Post

“I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved.”

Jack Roche & Bob Bright

The first general order is drilled into every recruit’s mind from the first day of military service. At 94 years of age, WWII Veteran, Jack Roche of Cordele, is still faithfully standing his post.

Every weekday morning, a few people gather at the Christ Episcopal Church in Cordele for Daily Prayer. Two of the most faithful are both veterans and in their 90’s.  Bob Bright and Jack Roche both flew in the Army Air Corp in WWII. We Ran the Race

When I let it be known that I was going to run for the 2nd District US House, many well-meaning people said that I was wasting my time and my money. Because of a long-time incumbency, the demographics, and socio-economics, the district has always been written off for a Republican challenger.

If an analysis of the data was my basis for running, then I would have come to the same conclusion. My basis for running; however, was not merely on political analysis.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather
