When You’ve Dug Yourself in a Hole – Stop Digging

In this commentary, I will address the Federal Student Loan program. For full disclosure purposes, I am paid as Campaign Manager for Wayne Johnson for Congress. The opinions I share on DonCole.com are mine and I am not being paid to write this article.

Student loans were in the news when the Covid suspension of payments was about to end this month. President Biden kicked the can down the road until May, thus postponing another political disaster within his administration when millions would have to begin making payments again.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Wayne Johnson hits Sanford in ad on Fox News

In my last post, I introduced you to Wayne Johnson, candidate for US Congress in the 2nd District. I had not planned to write regularly about Wayne on my site, but this commercial he is running was too good to let it slide by.

With the big National Championship game on Monday night, Wayne made another brilliant commercial. It will be running during The Five on Fox News between 5:00 – 6:00 PM

Here’s the 30 second commercial. Read the full press release below:

Meet Wayne Johnson

A few weeks ago, I received a call from a fellow in Macon named Wayne Johnson. He wanted to talk about the 2nd District Congressional race. He said that a mutual friend encouraged him to talk with me.

I am accustomed to getting inquiries about that race. I always try to talk the interested parties out of running and have a sanity check of questions for them to ask of themselves before taking on such a task.

I explained to Wayne that I was not running because Crisp county is now in the 8th district and I have no intention of running in another district where I cannot even vote for myself.

Wayne wanted to meet me in person.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Yeah, I Said That

Honorable Brian Kemp, Governor
206 Washington Street
Suite 203, State Capitol
Atlanta, GA 30334

December 19, 2020

Dear Governor Kemp,

Call a special session of the Georgia Legislature. Since November 3, we have heard repeatedly “there is no credible evidence” of widespread fraud that would change the outcome of the election.

What is the basis for that statement? Has there been a court case that actually ruled on the factual claims? FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Freedom Attacked

If we use the traditional 40 years to represent a generation, then we are at the end of the 2nd full generation since the Day of Infamy on December 7, 1941. My father remembers that day with the vivid memories that millennials today remember September 11, 2001.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Restore Confidence for January 5 Runoff

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that confidence in our elections administration in Georgia is in the gutter. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger can issue all the announcements he wants about how secure the election was but he may as well be saying that professional wrestling is real. There are more eyeballs rolling at his announcements than there are wheels on rolling on I-75. We Ran the Race

When I let it be known that I was going to run for the 2nd District US House, many well-meaning people said that I was wasting my time and my money. Because of a long-time incumbency, the demographics, and socio-economics, the district has always been written off for a Republican challenger.

If an analysis of the data was my basis for running, then I would have come to the same conclusion. My basis for running; however, was not merely on political analysis.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather
