President Trump was criticized for walking across Lafayette Square and holding his Bible in front of St. John’s Church. The term “photo-op” was one that was tossed about even before he took the first step out of the White House. ![]()

What a great day for the United States! Our space program is back!
I joined millions of Americans to watch the NASA/SpaceX launch. What a sense of pride when I watched Crew Dragon lift off. ![]()

Bibb County Responds
A few days ago, I noted a problem with the absentee and early voting in Bibb County. I wrote the Elections Board on May 26. The Elections Board met on May 28 and on May 29, Chairman Kaplan provided a response and regrets for the error. ![]()

Do Not Dilute Memorial Day
President Trump made a decision this weekend that may have been well-intended, but it was wrong. His directive to fly flags at half mast this weekend in memory of those who died from the Corona virus dilutes the importance of Memorial Day. ![]()

Covid-19 may have brought traditional campaigning to a grinding halt, but it hasn’t stopped me. I eat problems for breakfast.

The Miracle of Motherhood
Today is Mother’s Day. Millions of dozens of flowers, cards, and phone calls are enroute or have already been delivered.

The sheer volume tells us that this is more than just a successful marketing campaign by florists, candy makers, and greeting card companies. Childbearing is a role that is unique to a woman. There is a miraculous bond between mother and child.
No one exists apart from that relationship of mother to child. At a point in time, you were a microscopic being inside your mother’s body.![]()

The Cat Wrote a Commentary
I never considered myself to be a cat person. Most cats I knew were somewhat aloof.
Dogs have owners, cats have staff. But then I met Noel.
After my father-in-law died, we thought that my mother-in-law, Edwina, might like a pet to keep her company. In 2009, my sister-in-law, her daughter, and my son heard about someone who had a kitten.
They decided that it would be a great Christmas present for Edwina. Since it was close to Christmas, they named her Noel. ![]()

Today Georgia takes a baby step toward reopening our state’s economy. To hear some reports, Governor Kemp is flying a crop duster across the state spraying Covid-19.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. Let’s do a little review of what has happened, why it happened, and what this update to the Governor’s executive order really means.![]()
