All Government Money Comes from You

We need to talk. As a nation we have spent on Covid relief as if money was perpetually flowing from an endless fountain.

Employers cannot find workers because for some it is more profitable to draw government benefits.

Don’t get angry at the person taking the benefits. The individual drawing the payments did the research and determined that it was worth the effort to apply for it and receive it if qualified. Reapportionment – A Reason for Optimism in the 2nd District

There is little choice but to expand into strong Republican counties. The 2nd District could finally be competitive.

Every ten years we have a census in the United States. The purpose of the census is to determine the number of representatives from each state in the US House of Representatives. States and local governments also use the census to redraw the political districts, from Congress to County Commissions and many more.

The Supreme Court has established a rule commonly known as, “one man, one vote” for political districts. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Put Memorial Back in Memorial Day

Each year in America, we recognize Memorial Day. The name of the holiday itself is about remembering. It is a day to remember those who gave their lives for our nation in service.

Memorial Day originated in America after the civil war. Widows and daughters of Confederate soldiers gathered to decorate the graves of their loved ones who died in that terrible war. They referred to these gatherings as Decoration Day. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Congressman Austin Scott Dares to Call it Discrimination

Watch my video commentary. Only 3 minutes and it adds so much more than reading the text.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it is a duck. 8th District Congressman Austin Scott dared to call out discrimination in the $1.9 trillion so-called Covid relief bill. He wrote an editorial entitled, “Woke Coke Wants Reparations, and Biden’s COVID Relief Bill Delivers Them.”

Bills in Congress usually have deceptive titles. “The American Rescue Act of 2021” is no exception. A more accurate name would be, FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Covid Vaccinations Done Right

Don Cole shares his experience with getting a Covid-19 vaccination

Proverbs 3:27 says, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it.”

We all have the power to say good words and show our appreciation. Crisp & Dooly County Health Departments are definitely due some good words. In fact Chick-fil-A should be a little bit envious of them.FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Where to Now?

The “Hate Donald Trump” show in Congress dropped the curtain on its final act. Donald Trump was acquitted in the Senate trial and that saga is finally over for now at least.

The proceedings were called an impeachment but that is a misnomer. An impeachment is a trial to remove a current office holder from office. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather

Vets to Vote

Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Retired USMC Major General James E. Livingston

I am a veteran and I vote. I served four years in the US Army, two in the Panama Canal Zone and two at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah.

My Military Occupational Skill (MOS) was Military Police Investigator. One of the skills for an investigator was the ability to type. This was long before the days of the personal computer. FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailby feather
